Hi I'm Jilly.

For 7 years, I've managed a number of clinics throughout the Southern Highlands and Macarthur regions, working alongside countless people from all walks of life. These experiences have given me a deep understanding of human behaviour, emotional triggers, communication patterns, and what people truly need to feel seen, heard, and supported.

I hold a Diploma of Counselling and am currently studying a Bachelor of Health Science (Chinese Medicine), with the goal of becoming a Doctor of Chinese Medicine and Acupuncturist. My passion for this path comes from my desire to further support people by understanding the connection between the mind, body, and nervous system, helping clients heal in a more holistic way.

My greatest passion is being an advocate for wellbeing. I believe everyone deserves a space where they feel safe to be vulnerable—especially those who have spent years feeling misunderstood, alone, unsupported, or like they simply don't fit the mould. My role is to provide a compassionate, non-judgemental environment where trust can be rebuilt and genuine healing can begin.

I don't just listen—I challenge. I love helping my clients think differently, question old beliefs, break unhealthy patterns, and discover strengths they didn't realise they had. There is nothing more rewarding than watching someone grow into the authentic version of themselves.

After 45 years of life, I've become incredibly comfortable with who I am. That journey inspired me to rebrand my practice into something that truly reflects both my personality and the way I work.

Welcome to The Unorthodox Counsellor.

Unorthodox means contrary to what is usual, traditional, or expected.

And that's exactly who I am.

I don't believe there is a one-size-fits-all approach to healing. I believe in real conversations, genuine connection, a little humour, honest reflection, and thinking outside the box. Sometimes the greatest breakthroughs happen when we're willing to see life from a completely different perspective.

If you're looking for someone who will simply nod along, I may not be the counsellor for you.

If you're looking for someone who will walk beside you, challenge you with kindness, help you reconnect with yourself, and remind you that change is always possible, then you've come to the right place. Jilly xoxo
